Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge
Nestled on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater at 2,286 meters above sea level (with a 600 m sheer drop down to the crater floor), the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge affords one of the greatest views of the crater. The lodge is a 3-hour drive from Arusha and 90 minutes from Manyara. The airstrip is only a 10-minute drive away. The Lodge is moderately priced, as it is with the other properties in the Wildlife Lodges chain.
NUMBER OF ROOMS & DESCRIPTION:
Its 75 rooms have bathrooms en suite, and the lounge features a fireplace and panoramic windows which open on to a terrace serving as an observation deck for the crater below.
RESTAURANTS & BAR:
Empakai Bar: There is one bar open daily in the main lounge area. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere, very inviting on those chilly evenings at Ngorongoro Crater.
Rhino Restaurant: The restaurant provides three meals daily, although varied options are available dependent on occupancy, for example; bush dinner etc.
Menus are varied between buffet and a la carte depending on occupancy

Plantation Lodge
Plantation Lodge is situated about 30 kms from the Ngorongoro Crater. The place is very neatly tucked away on a coffee farm in the hills near to the town of Karatu.
NUMBER OF ROOMS & DESCRIPTION:
There are a total of 14 double rooms of which 6 can be converted into triples. All the rooms are individually furnished in varying themes. The most interesting is room 5, the honeymoon suite. This room has a special shower/ Jacuzzi bath which has millions of buttons for the various settings. It is highly recommended for a romantic night. Further down the garden is the group house. If a group or family is travelling through Tanzania, then this is really recommended. There are 4 double suites, all en suite and a large dining room where the guests can have their meals. There are also facilities available for younger children. The decor is a European African theme and all rooms are decorated individually.
OTHER FACILITIES & SERVICES:
As this is a private home type lodge there is not much in terms of facilities offered. They do have a fantastic pool area.
