Located in the south west of the seemingly endless plains of the Serengeti National Park, and is located 35 km from the Seronera airstrip. Looking out over the seemingly endless Serengeti plains, this hillside lodge is a tranquil oasis set in over 14,000 sq kms (5,000 sq miles) of National Park. The Serengeti plains are host to a dramatic annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and numerous other species of animals indigenous to the area.

The Serengeti Sopa Lodge is an all-suite property, each of its 75 suites featuring spacious bathrooms, a private lounge with mini-bar and a sliding “window wall” giving access to a balcony or verandah which enjoys uninterrupted views of the Serengeti.

The main public areas provide cool, spacious luxury with high ceilings and double-storey windows. The prolific wildlife can be observed from the elevated dining room, the cocktail bar and lounge and many game viewing terraces.

The Lodge has a swimming pool. The lodge has direct-dial satellite telephone facilities as well as satellite television and wildlife-video-film options. A number of lodge electrical generating systems provide 240volts, 50 cycles 24 hours a day. Our water supply comes from nearby springs but guests are advised not to drink from the taps. Instead, complimentary bottled mineral water is provided in the mini bars while further stocks are available for sale in the main bar. We welcome kids of all ages and can provide both special meals at convenient times and baby sitters on request. Our guest shop stocks a wide selection of curios, gift items, clothing, film, sweets, postcards, personal requisites and toiletries, while the other offers gemstones, jewelery and other more unusual items. The double size pool offers a refreshing interlude between game drives as well as wonderful views over the rolling plains of the Serengeti. Also, we can supply diesel and can carry out most minor repairs.
Situated about 25 / 30km half way between Famous National Parks of Ngorongoro
and Manyara, the Lodge is a convenient stop-over to and from these key destinations.
NUMBER OF ROOMS & DESCRIPTION:
The rooms have been designed in the style of luxury summer chalets. Each room can accommodate two people or more and contains an ensuite bathroom and shower. The beds are four posters and all extra large with draping nets for protection against insects. Each chalet also has its own individual private veranda outside where guests can sit out and enjoy the sun; read a book or even write a postcard!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the lodge is a buffet service (depending upon group size).
Cooking is home style and includes a wide selection of continental French and Italian dishes in addition to some occasional Tanzanian specialties.
Vegetarian options and picnic baskets are available upon requrest. Also have a BBQ building purposely built for outdoor barbequing – the perfect accompaniment on those mild African evenings. A broad choice of tasty meats, spit roasted or chargrilled with great care, is available from the ‘nyama choma’ (Swahili for ‘roast meat’) house.
