Accommodation here comprises a total of 18 rooms spread over several beach front bungalows. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and like the rest of the hotel, have recently been refurbished. All rooms include private bathrooms, mosquito nets and ceiling fan.
Facilities
Tamarind Beach hotel restaurant is pleasant and serves good international food, including dishes aimed at children, as well as Zanzibar cuisine.
The hotel also has a nice bar area which is fully stocked, serving various shakes and fruit juices as well as a good selection of alcoholic beverages.
Other activities
Like most guest houses in this area the hotel can provide various water sports such as fishing and snorkeling as well as day trips to other areas on the island. Despite its rural position Tamarind actually makes a good base from which to explore the rest of the Island as it’s not too far from anything and has good road access.
Zanziplanet reviews
The Tamarind has recently been refurbished to include a Swimming Pool and new bathrooms throughout. We think this is now a very keenly priced option for the standard and will suit anyone who is looking for a true escape, away from the Beach Boys on one of the paradise beaches Zanzibar is famous for. This is affordable paradise, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun.
