Villas at the Residence
All 66 villas are luxuriously appointed with contemporary, stylish furniture reminding guests of the island’s African and Omani heritage.
Every villa features satellite TV, CD/DVD player in the living room, mini bar, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, mosquito nets, personal safe, tea and coffee making facilities, broadband internet access, air-conditioning and overhead fans in the living room and bedrooms.
On the deck outside, overlooking a private swimming pool (30 – 35 m2 and 1.2m deep), wicker chairs and day beds await the guests to relax in and enjoy the views. Bicycles are provided with each villa to explore the gardens and local area.
The Residence has: 45 One Bedroom villas, 11 Junior Suite Villas, 7 Two Bedroom Villas, and 1 Presidential Villa.

Environment and local community
The Residence runs water recycling system and an energy conservation program. They also use a wide variety of recycled items throughout the resort.
The Residence is also conscious of its social responsibility and hotel has its own fruits and vegetables plantations handled by local gardeners. Additionally, The Residence has built a school in the local town and participates in social schemes to help the community.

The Residence is a recent edition to Zanzibar’s growing range of deluxe 5 star resorts. Early reports have been extremely positive with both the resort and its staff talked of very highly. The Residence is part of an established group from whom we only expect the best.
If budget allows, opt for one of the sea front villas and also consider the position within the resort. Those further away from the public areas are quieter but the walk is longer for meals.
We would be surprised if this property disappointed in any way, this should be considered by everyone.
