While you’re in the heart of Stone Town of Zanzibar, combine outdoor activity with island history on this unique cycling tour along the famous Mangapwani fishing village, used by Arabs as the hidden port for exporting the slaves to Mauritius in 18th century. Discover the bath of Princess Salme; explore some of Arabs slave chambers used to keep the slaves ready to be exported to Mauritius. After your leisurely bike tour, relax on the beach and take a dip in the crystal-clear waters before returning to your Stone Town Hotel.
Tour Highlights
With a year-round average temperature of 29 degrees Mangapwani (27 degrees Stone Town) and more than 20 miles (35 km) of bicycle-friendly roads, Zanzibar truly is a biker’s paradise. Take advantage while you’re in Zanzibar on this bike tour! Approximately 70% of the biking roads on the island are considered a tarmac road.
On this guided tour, ride along the tarmac road for approximately 2 miles (5.5 km) to see a side of Prince Salme Persian Bath most tourists miss. Your guide will stop to provide informative commentary at various points of interest along the way. The Bath, which is relatively built in Arabs style, offers spectacular views, stunning seascapes, lush gardens and exotic flora and fauna.
Time permitting; you may be able to cycle up to either the historic Garden of Bububu or ride directly to Mangapwani Slave Chambers. After your cycling tour, cool off with a refreshing swim at the beach and enjoy a complimentary soft drink.
